Media & Press
The Society for Ecological Restoration International (SER) 2011 World Conference on Ecological Restoration is an opportunity to improve local, regional, and global communication between the press/media and restoration professionals.
Journalists who would like to apply for a registration waiver must first contact SER at info@ser2011.org with “Press Invitation” in the subject line. Those deemed eligible will be issued a press/media invitation and complementary registration form once the general registration opens.
SER will not waive registration fees for editors of peer-reviewed journals, ad sales representatives, publishers, program officers or marketing professionals. All press/media attendees are responsible for any fees associated with workshops, field trips, and social events they choose to attend.

New Approaches to Nature
The fact that restoration is even possible surprises many people, as they are accustomed to hearing doom and gloom from environmentalists. In fact, there are now many instances around the world where ecosystem health has improved due to restoration, but they make few headlines. It was organised by the Society for Ecological Restoration International (SER), a branch of conservation that explores ways to reverse ecosystem damage, or at least to assist degraded systems to recover many of their functions and typical species.
