Registration fees include the conference bag, name tag, program and book of abstracts, Welcome Reception, admittance to all sessions including plenaries, regular/special sessions, symposia and workshops, a buffet lunch and morning/afternoon coffee breaks on each of the three days of the conference. Please note that there will be an additional cost for pre-conference training courses and field trips, post-conference field trips, and the Conference & Gala Awards Dinner to be held on the evening of Tuesday, August 23, 2011.

Carbon Offsets

In an effort to make SER2011 a carbon-neutral event, SER will donate USD$20 of each registration to Plan Vivo’s Scolel’Te project, a community-based agroforestry and ecological restoration initiative that works with small farmers in the states of Oaxaca and Chiapas, Mexico. Presenters

All presenters whose abstract has been accepted are required to register for the conference by July 12, 2011 in order to be included in the SER2011 conference program. Presenters not registered by this date will not be included in the program and will not have their abstract published in the conference proceedings.

Accompanying Person(s)

Merida is a wonderful place to visit and an ideal point of departure for numerous excursions around the region. Conference attendees are welcome to bring friends or loved ones to the meeting, and the fee for accompanying persons will include daily field trips on each of the 3 days of the scientific program (including a guided tour, lunch, bottled water and all admission fees). Attendance at the Conference & Gala Awards Dinner and participation in the one-day post-conference field trips will require an additional fee and should be indicated on the registration form.  

Conference & Gala Awards Dinner

The SER2011 Conference & Gala Awards Dinner will be held on the evening of Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at La Quinta Montes Molina, one of Merida’s most spectacular colonial-era mansions. We will celebrate the conference and honor the recipients of the 2011 SER Awards in a lovely outdoor setting with traditional Yucatecan food, music and drinks. Pre-Conference Field Trip

SER is happy to announce a 3-day pre-conference field trip (August 18-21, 2011) in the nearby state of Chiapas, Mexico. Travel to the Selva Lacandona and see first-hand the rich traditional ecological knowledge and management practices of the Lacandon Maya, and their many applications for tropical forest restoration. Post-Conference Field Trips

SER2011 Conference attendees will have the option of participating in a one-day post-conference field trip on Thursday, August 25, 2011. There will be an additional fee for each trip to cover the cost of transportation, lunch, bottled water and admission fees. Accommodation

SER has negotiated discounted room rates for conference attendees at the Hotel Fiesta Americana and Holiday Inn. Upon completing the conference registration form, you can reserve a room in one of these two hotels by completing the online hotel reservation form.  

SETAC

SER and SETAC (Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry) are proud to announce a joint symposium to be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 entitled “Coastal Oil Spills Before and After the Deepwater Horizon: Integrating impact assessment with restoration.” This symposium kicks off a SETAC Focused Topic Meeting, to be held after the SER2011 conference, entitled Pollutants in the Environment: Fate and Toxicity. Those interested in attending both meetings in their entirety will receive a special discounted rate. Cancellation Policy

SER will offer paid registrants a 50% refund for any cancellation made before July 21, 2011. No refunds will be possible after July 21, 2011.
